Who the flooring lead is
A flooring lead is a homeowner who wants a contractor to install new floors, usually replacing carpet, worn hardwood, damaged laminate or old tile in one or more rooms. The common materials are hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank, laminate, tile and carpet.
Flooring has a challenge the other home improvement offers do not: a large share of people interested in floors want to buy materials and install them themselves. Those people browse flooring content, click flooring ads and compare products, but they are not looking for an installer. Your traffic has to separate the homeowner who wants the job done from the shopper who wants a product.
Flooring projects also start for many reasons: a leak that ruined a floor, a new pet, a move, or a house going on the market. Those life events make good angles, because each one points to a person who needs installation, not inspiration.
What makes a flooring lead sell
Every lead is offered to buyers by ping/post, and buyers bid on leads that match their filters, including the states or ZIP codes they serve. Across the market, flooring buyers tend to look at:
- Installation, not materials only. The person wants a contractor to install the floor.
- Ownership. The homeowner can approve the work. Renters usually cannot replace floors.
- The material and the rooms. Buyers often specialize. A clear material and project size helps the lead reach the right buyer.
- A timeline. Someone ready to schedule a measure is easier to sell than someone collecting samples.
- Accurate contact details. Flooring buyers book an in-home measure before they quote.
The exact qualifying criteria for flooring leads are confirmed with each publisher during onboarding. The list above describes what the market looks at, not a promise that any single lead will sell.
Which traffic sources fit flooring offers
| Source | How it reaches flooring leads | How to approach it |
|---|---|---|
| Catches installation searches, but flooring keywords are full of product and DIY searches. | Use install and installer terms. Add negatives for DIY, how to, samples, cheap and store names. See match types and negative keywords. | |
| Meta | Room photos perform well in the feed and reach homeowners planning a change. | Show finished rooms and say plainly that a local installer will quote the job. See Meta ad creative for home improvement offers. |
| Native | Reaches readers comparing materials. | An advertorial comparing materials for homes with kids or pets, ending with an installation quote. See native ads for home improvement offers. |
| SEO sites | Material comparison pages rank well but attract many DIY readers. | Add a quote request to pages about installation, cost and timing, not product reviews. See how to monetize an existing site. |
Angles and audiences to test
- Professional installation. "Get new floors installed by a local pro." Saying installation up front filters out product shoppers.
- Out with the carpet. Homeowners replacing old carpet with hard flooring are a clear, common project.
- Pets and kids. Durable, easy-to-clean floors for busy homes. Keep product claims general.
- Water damage. A floor ruined by a leak needs replacing soon. Keep it factual and do not mention insurance payouts.
- Getting ready to sell. New floors before a listing. Speak to sellers in your target states.
Track each angle on its own sub ID and compare sold rate, not only form fills. A flooring angle that brings in many DIY shoppers can look strong on submissions and weak on sales. How to increase your sold rate explains what to watch.
Compliance notes for flooring traffic
Flooring ads lean on price and product claims, and both need care. Follow your platform's policies and our traffic guidelines. In general terms:
- Prices and sales. Do not quote a price per square foot or a sale price that the buyer has not offered. The FTC's guides against deceptive pricing cover former price comparisons, sale claims and bargain offers.
- Free installation. Do not promise free installation, free removal or a discount. These are offers only the contractor can make.
- Product claims. Words like waterproof, scratch proof or lifetime warranty describe specific products. Do not use them for a general flooring offer.
- Retailer look. Do not make the ad look like it comes from a flooring store or brand. Google's misrepresentation policy covers ads that mislead about who the advertiser is.
- Consent. Do not change or remove the consent language on the Summit lander.
The FTC's advertising FAQs for small business explain the general rule that ad claims must be truthful and supported. See also ad claims to avoid in home improvement offers. This page is not legal advice.

Apply as a publisherFrequently asked questions
Do flooring leads include people buying materials only?
Flooring landers are built for homeowners requesting installation or replacement. People who only want to buy materials are a different audience, so write ads that say a contractor will install the floor. The exact criteria are confirmed during onboarding.
How do I keep DIY shoppers out of my traffic?
Say installation in the ad and on any pre-lander, add DIY and product terms as negative keywords on Google, and compare sold rate by sub ID to find the angles that bring in shoppers.
Can I advertise a flooring sale or price?
Not unless the buyer has made that offer. Prices, sale claims and free installation are offers only the contractor can make.
Do I need my own flooring lander?
No. You send traffic to Summit flooring landers through your tracking link. Summit builds and maintains the lander and the consent capture.
