What to send

The apply button opens an email with these fields already listed. Fill in each one. The more specific you are, the easier it is for us to review your application.

What to include in a publisher application
FieldWhat to writeWhy we ask
VerticalsMVA, home improvement, or both. Name the offers you plan to start with, for example car accident or roofing.Summit runs two verticals. The offer decides which landers and buyers apply.
Traffic sourcesMeta, Google, native ad networks, or SEO and rank-and-rent sites. List each one you plan to use. These are the approved sources. Each one works differently with Summit landers.
StatesThe states you plan to target first, or all states.Summit covers all U.S. states in both verticals. Your states shape the first test.
Expected monthly volumeA realistic estimate of the traffic or leads you expect to send.It helps us plan routing for your traffic.
Website or companyYour company name and website, or the sites you plan to send traffic from.It tells us who you are and, for SEO publishers, where the traffic comes from.

If you have run lead gen traffic before, say so and describe it briefly: the verticals, the sources and how you tracked results. If you are new, say that too. Either way, an honest description is more useful than a large estimate.

What to mention for each traffic source

A few extra lines about how you run your source make an application much clearer. Here is what is useful for each approved source:

Useful details to include in an application, by traffic source
SourceUseful details
MetaWhether you run from a verified business account, which lead offers you have run before, and the formats you use, such as image, video or carousel.
GoogleWhether you run search campaigns, the keyword themes you plan to target, and how you manage negative keywords.
NativeWhether you send traffic straight to the lander or through an advertorial or pre-lander, and the kinds of sites your ads appear on.
SEO and rank-and-rent sitesThe sites you plan to use, the topics and locations they rank for, and how you plan to link to the lander.

You do not need to share account access or private data in your application. A short, plain description is enough.

How to prepare

You can get ready while your application is reviewed. These steps make the first campaign faster to launch and easier to read:

  • Read the [traffic guidelines](/publishers/traffic-guidelines). They cover approved sources, ad creative requirements and consent rules.
  • Pick one offer to start. One offer in one vertical gives you a clear first result. The MVA and home improvement program pages describe each offer.
  • Choose a small group of states. A narrow first test gives each state enough traffic to compare.
  • Plan your sub IDs. Decide how you will label campaigns, ad sets and ads so your results by tracking link make sense. See tracking links and sub IDs explained.
  • Draft your creative. Write a few ads, one angle each, that follow the policies of the platform you run on.
  • Write down your questions. Return terms, payment terms and how reporting is delivered are all covered during onboarding.

If you are planning your first campaign, how to plan a first test campaign walks through budget, structure and what to measure.

Is this the right program for you?

The publisher program fits media buyers and site owners who produce traffic and want Summit to handle the lander, consent and routing. If you already generate leads on your own forms, with your own consent capture, sell your leads is the better fit. The hosted landers vs your own landers page compares the two setups.
