Buyers usually ask for a sample lead before the first call. This page and the four sample lead pages answer that question in writing, field by field. Every example uses invented values; none of them belongs to a real consumer. The exact field specification (field names, formats, required and optional fields per verticalVerticalThe industry or product category a lead belongs to, such as roofing or car accident. Glossary) is shared during onboarding.
Sample leads by vertical
Each page lists every field on that vertical’s leads, explains what each field means, shows one example lead as a table and as JSON, and names the fields buyers filterFilterA rule that decides which leads a buyer is offered, based on fields such as vertical, sub-type, state, ZIP code, homeownership or accident details. Glossary on.
- Sample car accident lead
Accident date, accident type, injury, treatment, fault and representation answers, plus TrustedForm fields.
- Sample roofing lead
Homeownership, timeframe, roofing material, project type and property type.
- Sample bathroom remodeling lead
Homeownership, timeframe and the bathroom project, from a vanity to a full remodel.
- Sample window replacement lead
Homeownership, timeframe, number of windows, window style and frame material.
- Sample HVAC leadNow onboarding
Summit’s standard home services fields: homeownership, timeframe, project type and the consent record.
Siding and gutter leads and flooring leads do not have a sample lead page yet. Email the team for their field specification.
The four parts of every lead
Field names differ by vertical, but every lead a buyer receives from Summit is built from the same four groups of fields:
| Part | What it holds | Why buyers use it |
|---|---|---|
| Contact fields | First name, last name, phone number and email address. | Reaching the consumer. These fields are only sent in the post, after a buyer has won the lead. |
| Location fields | State and ZIP code on every vertical; city, county or street address where the vertical’s form asks for them. | Matching the lead to the area a buyer, or a buyer’s client, serves. |
| Qualifier fields | The answers to the form’s questions for that vertical, such as homeownership and project timeframe, or the accident date and representation status. | Deciding whether the lead fits, and routing it to the right client or team. |
| Consent record | The opt-in language the consumer saw, the submission time, the IP address and the page URL, plus certificate fields where the lead carries them. | Checking what the consumer agreed to before anyone calls. |
What a sample lead does not show
A sample lead page shows field names, plain-language meanings and example values. It does not show a real consumer, a price or a volume, and it is not the full specification. Three points to keep in mind when you read one:
- Examples of values are not option lists. For home service qualifier fields, the values shown are common answers on the form, not every possible answer.
- Car accident answers are described, not listed. The sample car accident lead explains each accident and injury question and shows a placeholder where the answer goes.
- Placeholders in capitals are not values. Fields such as the opt-in languageOpt-in languageThe consent disclosure shown next to the submit button on a lead form. Glossary are shown as placeholders, the same way the example ping and post does.
How sample lead fields reach your system
Leads are delivered by real-time ping/postPing/postA real-time selling method in which a lead is pinged to buyers with partial data, buyers bid, and the winning bidder receives the full lead by post. Glossary. The ping carries the qualifier and location fields a buyer filters on, without contact details; the post carries the full lead, including the contact fields and the consent record. What each message contains, how a bid or decline is returned and how testing works are covered in how the ping/post integration works. Direct postDirect postA delivery method in which a supplier sends the full lead straight to a buyer, with no ping first. Glossary and batch delivery are also described there.
Before live traffic, test leads are sent to your endpoint so your developer can confirm that every field is mapped. That is the point to compare the sample lead pages with what arrives in your system.
The consent record in a sample lead
TCPA consent is captured on every lead, with consent certificates. The consent record includes the opt-in language the consumer saw, the timestamp of submission, the IP address and the page URL where consent was given; on the sample lead pages these are grouped as consent record fields. The car accident field list includes TrustedForm fields, and the home service field lists include TrustedForm and Jornaya fields. Each sample lead page explains what those fields are.
For what makes consent usable, see TCPA consent, express written consent and record keeping for TCPA consent.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Ask your own counsel how consent rules apply to the way you contact consumers.
From sample lead to first test

Check that the fields match what your system, or your client’s system, needs.
Email the team
Send your verticals, states or ZIP codes, daily caps and delivery method, and ask for the field specification.
Map and test
Your developer maps the fields, and test leads confirm that each one lands in the right place.
Start small
Start with a small test volume and scale when the numbers work.
For the buyer side of a lead, see the buyer FAQ. If you buy for clients, aggregators and buying desks explains how Summit works with that model.
Frequently asked questions
Is a sample lead a real consumer’s lead?
No. Every sample lead on this site uses invented values: the name Jordan Example, a 555-01xx phone number, an example.com email address and a 192.0.2.x IP address. The field names are the ones on Summit’s leads.
Do all verticals carry the same fields?
No. Contact, location and consent record fields are similar across verticals, but each vertical has its own qualifier fields. Roofing leads ask about roofing material, for example, and car accident leads ask about the accident and the injury.
Can I get a sample lead for siding and gutters or flooring?
There is no sample lead page for siding and gutters or flooring yet. Email team@summitleads.ai and ask for their field specification.
Does the ping include contact details?
No. A ping carries partial, non-identifying data such as the vertical, state, ZIP code and qualifier answers. Contact details are only sent in the post to the buyer that wins the lead.
