Security system dealers, installers, multi-trade home services companies and buying desks can use the page to see what comes with each homeowner request before they get in touch. Home security leads use Summit’s standard home services fields, shown below. Field names, data formats and the required set come in the specification handed over during onboarding.
Fields on a sample home security lead
Four tables follow, one per group of fields. Wherever the security form asks the homeowner a question, the "Example" column marks the spot for their answer instead of guessing at it.
Contact fields
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
first_name | The consumer’s first name, as entered on the form. | Jordan |
last_name | The consumer’s last name. | Example |
email | The consumer’s email address. | jordan.example@example.com |
phone | The consumer’s phone number. | 555-0142 |
Location fields
An installer has to visit the house, which is why a full street address sits beside city, state and ZIP code. Security companies usually draw their territory as a list of ZIP codes and use the address to confirm a home is inside it.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
address | Street address of the home the security request is for. | 123 Example Street |
city | City. | Las Vegas |
state | Two-letter state code. Buyers filter on it. | NV |
zip_code | Five-digit ZIP code. Buyers set coverage down to the ZIP code. | 89101 |
Qualifier fields
These are the four qualifier fields every Summit home services lead carries. Project type is shown only in broad terms, such as a first system, a replacement or a single device, because the home security options are confirmed during onboarding.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
own_property | Whether the consumer owns the property. Buyers that work with homeowners only filter on it. | Yes or No |
purchase_time_frame | When the consumer plans to start the project. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
project_type | The kind of home security request the consumer chose, described in general terms. The exact options are confirmed during onboarding. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
credit_rating | The consumer’s own estimate of their credit. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
Consent record fields
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
ip_address | IP address of the device that submitted the form. Part of the consent record. | 192.0.2.44 |
user_agent | The browser and device description sent by the device that submitted the form. | Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 17_5 like Mac OS X) |
landing_page_url | Address of the page where the form was submitted. Part of the consent record. | https://www.example.com/request |
tcpa_text | The opt-in language the consumer saw next to the submit button. Part of the consent record. | OPT_IN_TEXT_SHOWN_TO_CONSUMER |
trustedform_cert_url | Link to the TrustedForm certificate for the form session, a third-party record of the submission that a buyer can open and keep. | https://cert.trustedform.com/EXAMPLE |
jornaya_leadid | The Jornaya LeadiD for the form session, an ID a buyer can use to look up Jornaya’s record of the submission. | EXAMPLE-LEADID |

Below is the whole lead for an imaginary homeowner. Homeownership carries a value; every other answer reads FORM_ANSWER. The opt-in wording is placeholder text, and the TrustedForm address is marked EXAMPLE and leads to no actual certificate.

}Fields security buyers filter on
Home security leads use the same filters as Summit’s other home services leads. Each filterFilterA rule that decides which leads a buyer is offered, based on fields such as vertical, sub-type, state, ZIP code, homeownership or accident details. Glossary maps onto a field you can see in the sample:
- state and zip_code: where your company is allowed to sell and install, cut down to the ZIP codes your technicians drive to.
- own_property: owners only, since a renter generally needs permission before any permanent installation.
- purchase_time_frame: homeowners ready to go ahead soon, or those still researching as well.
- project_type: the kind of security request in broad terms, so a buyer can leave out work it does not do.
Filters are set per campaign, down to the ZIP code. For delivery, routing, setup and how the requests are produced, go to home security leads. Home security has no state pages, and the state guides that exist for other verticals are collected at leads by state.
The consent record on a home security lead
TCPATCPAThe Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the federal law that governs telemarketing calls and texts, autodialers, prerecorded voice messages and the Do Not Call Registry. Glossary consent is captured on every lead, with consent certificates. Six fields hold that proof. tcpa_text stores the exact consent language the homeowner saw before pressing submit. ip_address and user_agent identify the browser and connection used, and landing_page_url records which page carried the form.
Two more fields tie the lead to independent session records. trustedform_cert_url opens a TrustedForm certificate that a buyer should save alongside the lead, and jornaya_leadid identifies the matching Jornaya submission. For the rules these records support, read TCPA compliance for home service leads and express written consent.
This is general information, not legal advice. Your own counsel should confirm that a given consent record fits how your sales team phones or messages homeowners about security systems.
Other sample leads
You can compare this layout with the sample plumbing lead, the sample HVAC lead and the sample roofing lead, which share it, with extra trade questions on roofing. What all leads have in common is set out on the sample leads hub. Lead generators checking their own forms against this layout can read high quality home security leads.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there no camera or sensor fields on the sample home security lead?
Home security leads carry Summit’s standard home services fields, the same set used on roofing, bathroom and window leads, so the sample adds no security-only fields. The full specification is shared during onboarding.
Which answers can appear in project type on a home security request?
Broad choices like a first system, replacing an old one, or a single device such as a camera or smart lock. The real list is settled during onboarding, which is why the sample leaves FORM_ANSWER in that slot.
How does own_property help a security buyer?
Putting in a security system usually means mounting or wiring equipment, and a renter generally cannot approve that alone. The own_property answer lets a buyer accept owners only.
Are the contact details in the sample home security lead real?
No. Jordan Example is a stand-in name, 555-01xx numbers are reserved for fiction, the email uses example.com, and the IP address belongs to 192.0.2.x, a range kept for documentation.
