Plumbing companies, multi-trade home services companies and buying desks can use it to check what arrives with each plumbing request before they contact Summit. Plumbing leads use Summit’s standard home services fields, shown below. The specification shared during onboarding gives the exact field names, formats and the required and optional fields.
Fields on a sample plumbing lead
Each table groups the fields by what a buyer does with them. Where a value comes from a question on the plumbing form, the "Example" column says that the homeowner’s answer goes there, instead of inventing one.
Contact fields
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
first_name | The consumer’s first name, as entered on the form. | Jordan |
last_name | The consumer’s last name. | Example |
email | The consumer’s email address. | jordan.example@example.com |
phone | The consumer’s phone number. | 555-0142 |
Location fields
A plumber drives to the home, so the full street address arrives together with the city, state and ZIP code. The ZIP code is also what most plumbing buyers use to draw their service area.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
address | Street address of the home the plumbing work is for. | 123 Example Street |
city | City. | Las Vegas |
state | Two-letter state code. Buyers filter on it. | NV |
zip_code | Five-digit ZIP code. Buyers set coverage down to the ZIP code. | 89101 |
Qualifier fields
Four qualifier fields, the same ones Summit’s other home services leads carry. Project type is described only in general terms, such as a repair, a replacement or an installation, because the plumbing options are confirmed during onboarding.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
own_property | Whether the consumer owns the property. Buyers that work with homeowners only filter on it. | Yes or No |
purchase_time_frame | When the consumer plans to start the project. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
project_type | The kind of plumbing job the consumer asked about, described in general terms. The exact options are confirmed during onboarding. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
credit_rating | The consumer’s own estimate of their credit. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
Consent record fields
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
ip_address | IP address of the device that submitted the form. Part of the consent record. | 192.0.2.44 |
user_agent | The browser and device description sent by the device that submitted the form. | Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 17_5 like Mac OS X) |
landing_page_url | Address of the page where the form was submitted. Part of the consent record. | https://www.example.com/request |
tcpa_text | The opt-in language the consumer saw next to the submit button. Part of the consent record. | OPT_IN_TEXT_SHOWN_TO_CONSUMER |
trustedform_cert_url | Link to the TrustedForm certificate for the form session, a third-party record of the submission that a buyer can open and keep. | https://cert.trustedform.com/EXAMPLE |
jornaya_leadid | The Jornaya LeadiD for the form session, an ID a buyer can use to look up Jornaya’s record of the submission. | EXAMPLE-LEADID |
One complete sample plumbing lead
Below, the fields are filled in for an invented homeowner. Apart from homeownership, each answer reads FORM_ANSWER; the opt-in wording is a placeholder, and the TrustedForm link is an EXAMPLE address with no certificate behind it.

}Fields plumbing buyers filter on
Plumbing leads use the same filters as Summit’s other home services leads. On the lead itself, those filters read these fields:
- state and zip_code: the states where your plumbers hold licenses, narrowed to the ZIP codes your vans can reach.
- own_property: owners only, since a tenant usually has to involve the landlord before work starts.
- purchase_time_frame: homeowners who want the work done now, or planned projects too.
- project_type: the kind of plumbing job, in general terms, so a buyer can leave out work it does not take.
Filters are set per campaign, down to the ZIP code. Delivery, routing and setup are on the buyer page, plumbing leads, and plumbing lead generation explains where homeowner plumbing requests come from. Plumbing has no state pages; state guides for other verticals are under leads by state.
The consent record on a plumbing lead
TCPATCPAThe Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the federal law that governs telemarketing calls and texts, autodialers, prerecorded voice messages and the Do Not Call Registry. Glossary consent is captured on every lead, with consent certificates. Six fields make up the consent record on a Summit home services lead: tcpa_text holds the consent language shown beside the submit button, ip_address and user_agent identify the device, landing_page_url names the page, and two more fields link outside records of the session.
Those two are trustedform_cert_url, a link to a TrustedForm certificate that a buyer can open and store with the lead, and jornaya_leadid, an ID for Jornaya’s copy of the submission. TCPA compliance for home service leads and express written consent explain the rules these records relate to.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Whether a given consent record covers how your office calls or texts homeowners about plumbing work is a question for your own counsel.
Other sample leads
You will find the same standard fields on the sample HVAC lead, the sample bathroom remodeling lead and the sample roofing lead; roofing and bathroom requests carry a few trade questions on top. For what all leads share, read the sample leads hub.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the sample plumbing lead have no fixture or pipe material field?
Because plumbing leads use Summit’s standard home services fields, the same ones roofing, bathroom and window leads carry, so the sample invents no plumbing-only fields. The full field specification is shared during onboarding.
What goes in the project type field on a plumbing lead?
What the homeowner picked when asked about the job, in broad terms such as a repair, a replacement or an installation. Because the option list is confirmed during onboarding, the example shows FORM_ANSWER in that field.
Does a plumbing lead include the home’s street address?
Yes. Address, city, state and ZIP code are all standard home services fields, so a plumbing office can confirm the home is in its service area before it sends anyone.
Is the homeowner in the sample plumbing lead real?
No. The homeowner is fictional. The values use a placeholder name (Jordan Example), a 555-01xx phone number reserved for examples, an example.com email and an IP address from the 192.0.2.x documentation range.
