It lets fence contractors, multi-trade home services firms and buying desks check the contents of a fence request before they write to Summit. Fencing leads use Summit’s standard home services fields, shown below. Precise names, formats and the required versus optional split arrive with the onboarding specification.
Fields on a sample fencing lead
Fields are grouped by the job they do for a fence buyer. Wherever the fence form would supply a value, the "Example" column notes that the homeowner’s own answer belongs there; no answer is invented.
Contact fields
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
first_name | The consumer’s first name, as entered on the form. | Jordan |
last_name | The consumer’s last name. | Example |
email | The consumer’s email address. | jordan.example@example.com |
phone | The consumer’s phone number. | 555-0142 |
Location fields
Because an estimator walks the yard to measure it, the lead includes the street address along with city, state and ZIP code, and ZIP code is how most fence companies define their territory.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
address | Street address of the property where the fence work would happen. | 123 Example Street |
city | City. | Las Vegas |
state | Two-letter state code. Buyers filter on it. | NV |
zip_code | Five-digit ZIP code. Buyers set coverage down to the ZIP code. | 89101 |
Qualifier fields
These are the four qualifier fields every Summit home services lead carries. Project type is kept general, such as a new fence, a replacement or a repair, since the fencing options are confirmed during onboarding.
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
own_property | Whether the consumer owns the property. Buyers that work with homeowners only filter on it. | Yes or No |
purchase_time_frame | When the consumer plans to start the project. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
project_type | The kind of fence project the consumer chose, in general terms such as a new fence, a replacement or a repair. The exact options are confirmed during onboarding. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
credit_rating | The consumer’s own estimate of their credit. | The consumer’s answer on the form |
Consent record fields
| Field | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
ip_address | IP address of the device that submitted the form. Part of the consent record. | 192.0.2.44 |
user_agent | The browser and device description sent by the device that submitted the form. | Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 17_5 like Mac OS X) |
landing_page_url | Address of the page where the form was submitted. Part of the consent record. | https://www.example.com/request |
tcpa_text | The opt-in language the consumer saw next to the submit button. Part of the consent record. | OPT_IN_TEXT_SHOWN_TO_CONSUMER |
trustedform_cert_url | Link to the TrustedForm certificate for the form session, a third-party record of the submission that a buyer can open and keep. | https://cert.trustedform.com/EXAMPLE |
jornaya_leadid | The Jornaya LeadiD for the form session, an ID a buyer can use to look up Jornaya’s record of the submission. | EXAMPLE-LEADID |
A full sample fencing lead
Next, one fictional fence customer, with every field filled. Answers other than homeownership read FORM_ANSWER, a stand-in replaces the opt-in wording, and the TrustedForm URL is marked EXAMPLE because no certificate exists for it.

}Fields fence buyers filter on
Fencing leads use the same filters as Summit’s other home services leads. Those filters work on these fields of the lead:
- state and zip_code: the states your crews work in, trimmed to the ZIP codes an estimator will drive to.
- own_property: owners only, because a renter rarely has the right to put up a fence.
- purchase_time_frame: start soon only, or later projects too.
- project_type: new fence, replacement or repair, in general terms, so a buyer can skip jobs it does not do.
Material is not a standard field, so a buyer that installs only some materials confirms the choice on the first call. Filters are set per campaign, down to the ZIP code. For delivery, routing and setup, go to the buyer page, fencing leads, which also explains how fence requests are generated. Fencing has no state pages; state guides for other verticals sit under leads by state.
The consent record on a fencing lead
TCPATCPAThe Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the federal law that governs telemarketing calls and texts, autodialers, prerecorded voice messages and the Do Not Call Registry. Glossary consent is captured on every lead, with consent certificates. Six fields hold that record. The words the homeowner agreed to are in tcpa_text; the browser and network behind the submission appear in user_agent and ip_address; landing_page_url says which page carried the form; and two last fields reference third-party copies of the session.
trustedform_cert_url opens a TrustedForm certificate that a fence company may save alongside its copy of the request, while jornaya_leadid identifies the matching Jornaya entry. The rules these fields relate to are explained in TCPA compliance for home service leads and express written consent.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Whether one consent record supports the calls or texts your fence business plans is a question for your own lawyer.
More sample leads
The sample roofing lead, the sample window replacement lead and the sample plumbing lead use the same standard fields; roofing and window forms ask some extra questions of their own. The sample leads hub explains what every lead has in common. Lead generators with fence forms can compare their fields with this list on sell fencing leads, and affiliates can read about the fencing affiliate program.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there no fence material or footage field on the sample fencing lead?
Fencing leads carry Summit’s standard home services fields, shared with roofing, bathroom and window leads, so the sample adds no fence-only questions. The full field specification is shared during onboarding.
What does the project type field hold on a fencing lead?
Whichever fence job the homeowner selected: broadly, new, replacement or repair. Since those choices are agreed during onboarding, the filled-in example leaves FORM_ANSWER in place of a real one.
Does a fencing lead give the street address of the property?
Yes. Street address, city, state and ZIP code are standard home services fields, so a fence company can check the property is in its area before booking an estimate.
Is the homeowner on the sample fencing lead a real person?
No. Jordan Example is a stand-in; the phone number sits in the 555-01xx range kept for fiction, the email ends in example.com, and the IP address belongs to 192.0.2.x, a block reserved for documentation.
