Buying desk leads for MVA and home improvement client orders

Summit Leads supplies buying desk leads to aggregators and buying desks that place MVA and home improvement leads with their own clients. One ping/post connection can carry several campaigns, each with its own filters and daily cap, so every client order gets only the leads that fit it, with the consent record attached.

This page is for operators: aggregators, lead-generation companies and buying desks that buy injury or home services leads and fill orders for law firms, contractors or other clients. It explains which leads are available, how to turn client orders into campaigns, how the connection works, and the compliance points that come with placing leads with someone else.

What you get

  • MVA / personal injury leads and home improvement leads in five trades
  • Real-time delivery by ping/post, with direct post or batch delivery set up per partner
  • Exclusive leads by default, with shared delivery on request
  • Coverage in all U.S. states
  • TCPA consent captured on every lead, with consent certificates
  • Return terms and payment terms agreed during onboarding

What we need from you

  • The verticals and sub-types each client order covers
  • The states or ZIP codes for each order
  • A daily cap for each campaign, plus any hourly or day-of-week limits
  • Your ping and post endpoints, or the delivery method you need
  • A technical contact for testing and an operations contact for returns

Who buys this way

Buyers are aggregators, lead-generation companies and buying desks that route, resell or fill client campaigns. Summit Leads is a business-to-business supplier. In practice, the operators who buy through this page fall into a few groups:

  • MVA buying desks that take injury leads and place them with law firms or legal marketing clients in the states those clients cover.
  • Home services buying desks that fill orders for roofers, remodelers, window companies and other contractors across many markets.
  • Aggregators that run their own buyer programs and buy from outside suppliers to cover states, hours or sub-types their own traffic does not reach.
  • Lead-generation companies that generate some leads themselves and buy the rest to meet client demand.

For what an aggregator is and where it sits in the lead flow, see lead aggregators. How a desk uses the leads after delivery is part of the terms agreed with each partner; if your model includes passing leads on to other buyers, say so in your first email and read lead resellers.

Buying desk leads by vertical

Summit supplies MVA and home improvement leads to desks. A desk can buy one sub-type, MVA only, home improvement only, or MVA and home improvement through the same connection.

Verticals and sub-types available to buying desks, with the sample lead for each

Each vertical has a buyer page with its filters and quality checks: MVA leads and home improvement leads. Sample leads explains the contact, location, qualifier and consent record fields that every lead carries, which is the data a desk passes to its client.

HVAC is now onboarding: Summit is adding heating and cooling leads and accepting interest from desks that place HVAC requests with contractor clients. See HVAC leads.

Turning client orders into campaigns

A buying desk rarely buys for one set of rules. Each client wants its own area, its own lead types and its own daily number. Filters and caps are configured on Summit’s side, per campaign, from the details you send, so the usual setup is one campaign for each client order, or for each group of orders with identical rules.

How details from a client order map to campaign settings
Client order saysCampaign setting
“We take cases in these counties” or “we serve these ZIP codes”States or ZIP code list for that campaign
“Truck cases only” or “roof replacements, not repairs”Sub-type and qualifier filters, such as accident type or project type
“Homeowners only”Homeowner status filter on home improvement campaigns
“No claimants who already have a lawyer”Already screened out on MVA leads; attorney status is part of the MVA filters
“Up to a set number a day, weekdays only”Daily cap plus day-of-week limits
“Our call center works until early evening”Hourly limits that stop delivery when the client’s team goes home

When a client pauses, grows or changes its area, email the change and the campaign is updated. Filters and caps can be changed by email at any time. Keeping one campaign per order also makes return requests easier to judge, because each lead can be checked against the rules of the order it was bought for.

How the connection works

Delivery is real-time ping/post. Your system replies with a bid or a decline within the response window agreed at setup, and the winning bid receives the full lead by post. The message contents, an illustrative ping and post, and the testing steps are on ping/post integration.

For a desk, the useful part is that the ping carries the fields you route on, such as state, ZIP code, sub-type and qualifier answers, without contact data. Your own routing logic can check the ping against open client orders and remaining client caps before deciding to bid, so you only buy leads you already have a place for. Desks that would rather not bid lead by lead can use direct post at a fixed price for matching leads, and batch delivery is set up per partner where a client’s system cannot take real-time posts.

For how routing between sources and clients works in general, see lead routing.

Exclusive by default, shared on request

MVA and home improvement leads are exclusive by default: each lead is sold to one buyer. Shared delivery is available if a buyer asks for it. Tell us which model each campaign needs, because a desk may run exclusive campaigns for some clients and shared campaigns for others. The trade-offs are compared in exclusive vs shared leads.

Overflow, reselling and two-way partnerships

Three related pages cover models that some desks use alongside real-time buying:

  • Overflow MVA leads

MVA leads that went through Summit’s real-time auction and were not sold in it, for desks that work leads after the real-time window.

  • Lead resellers

For wholesale buyers and marketplaces. Reselling is discussed per partner by email.

  • Buy and sell partnership

For companies that generate leads and also buy them: both sides set up in one onboarding.

Summit Leads operates on both sides of the market. If your desk also has supply it does not place, it can be sold through the seller program, and media buyers can join the publisher program. If you want overflow MVA leads, mention it in your first email.

Compliance points when leads go to your clients

A desk sits between the consumer’s consent and the client who makes the call. That position adds checks a single end buyer does not need:

  • Keep the consent record with the lead all the way to the client. The post carries the opt-in language shown, the timestamp, the IP address and the page URL where consent was given. Pass it on with the lead, and keep your own copy under the lead ID. See record keeping for TCPA consent.
  • Check whose name the consent covers. Read the opt-in language for each campaign and confirm with counsel that it covers the client who will contact the consumer. One-to-one consent explains why this question matters.
  • Know the ping/post consent rules. TCPA for ping/post delivery covers what changes when a lead passes through several companies.
  • MVA clients are law firms with their own rules. Lawyer advertising and referral rules sit in each state’s rules of professional conduct; the car accident state pages list them, for example the lawyer advertising section of Florida car accident leads. See personal injury law firms for what firms check.
  • Home services clients call homeowners under state rules. Calling hours and state telemarketing laws differ: see state TCPA laws and TCPA for home service leads.

Return terms with Summit are agreed during onboarding. The return terms you give your own clients are set by you, so it helps to align the reasons and evidence on both sides before going live. See lead returns.

This page is general information, not legal advice. How consent, reselling and lawyer advertising rules apply to your business and your clients is a question for your own counsel.

Starting as a buying desk

  1. Email your client orders

List the verticals, sub-types, states or ZIP codes and daily caps for each order you want to fill, and your delivery method.

  2. Agree terms

Terms, caps and pricing are set per partner and agreed in writing before going live. Pricing is not published.

  3. Connect and test

Your endpoint is connected, and test leads confirm that pings, bids and posts work for each campaign.

  4. Start small

Run a small test volume on each campaign first, and raise caps once your clients’ contact rates and quality hold up.

Most MVA and home improvement partners go live within 24-72 hours after setup.

Frequently asked questions

Can one endpoint carry campaigns for several of our clients?

Yes. Each client order can be its own campaign with its own filters and daily cap, and all of them can post to the same endpoint. Your system routes each lead to the right client from the fields in the ping and the post.

Can a buying desk take MVA and home improvement leads from the same supplier account?

Yes. MVA and home improvement campaigns run through the same ping/post connection, with separate campaigns, filters and caps for each vertical and sub-type.

Can we hand the consent record to the client who calls the consumer?

Yes. The consent record travels with the lead in the post, so it can be passed to your client or kept on file. Check with counsel that the opt-in language covers the client who makes contact.

Which home services trades can a desk fill orders in?

Five: roofing, bathroom remodeling, window replacement, flooring, and siding and gutters. Orders for other trades cannot be filled from Summit’s supply.

Is reselling to our own buyers allowed?

It depends on the terms agreed with each partner. Describe your model in your first email to team@summitleads.ai, and it is discussed before anything is set up. See the lead resellers page for that use case.
