Sample debt lead: the fields every lead carries

This sample debt lead shows the fields every Summit lead has: first and last name, email and phone, the consumer’s state, and the consent record with the opt-in text, IP address, user agent, landing page, TrustedForm certificate and Jornaya LeadiD, in invented values. Debt-specific fields (for example debt amount and debt type) are confirmed during onboarding.

Summit Leads sells debt settlement and debt relief leads by real-time ping/post, in all U.S. states, exclusive by default.

It is written for debt settlement companies, debt relief and consolidation companies, and buying desks that want to see the core of a debt lead before they get in touch. This sample shows the fields that come with every Summit debt lead, each with its TCPATCPAThe Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the federal law that governs telemarketing calls and texts, autodialers, prerecorded voice messages and the Do Not Call Registry. Glossary consent record. Debt leads do not use the home services fields shown on the other sample pages, so there is no address, homeownership or project question here.

Fields on a sample debt lead

The tables sort the fields by the job they do. Every value in the "Example" column is made up, and the opt-in text is a placeholder for the wording a real form would show.

Contact fields

These are the details a buyer’s team uses to reach the consumer, usually by phone first.

Contact fields on a debt lead
FieldWhat it isExample
first_nameThe consumer’s first name, as typed on the form.Jordan
last_nameThe consumer’s last name, as typed on the form.Example
emailThe email address the consumer gave.jordan.example@example.com
phoneThe phone number the consumer gave for the call back.555-0163

State

A debt lead carries the consumer’s state rather than a street address. State matters to debt buyers because some states license or restrict debt services, and each buyer serves only the states it is set up for.

State field on a debt lead
FieldWhat it isExample
stateTwo-letter code for the state the consumer lives in. Debt buyers use it to keep each request inside the states they serve.OH

Six fields together show what the consumer agreed to, where, and from which device.

tcpa_textThe opt-in wording shown to the consumer beside the submit button.OPT_IN_TEXT_SHOWN_TO_CONSUMER
ip_addressThe IP address of the device used to send the form.192.0.2.71
user_agentThe browser and device string sent by that device.Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64)
landing_page_urlThe address of the page that held the form.https://www.example.com/debt-help
trustedform_cert_urlLink to the TrustedForm certificate, a third-party record of the form session the buyer can open and store.https://cert.trustedform.com/EXAMPLE
jornaya_leadidThe Jornaya LeadiD, an ID the buyer can use to look up Jornaya’s record of the same submission.EXAMPLE-LEADID

Debt-specific fields (for example debt amount and debt type) are confirmed during onboarding. Until those are set, the sample stops at the fields above, with no debt amount or debt type value, not even a placeholder.

One complete sample debt lead

Here are the same eleven fields for one made-up consumer. The phone number uses the 555-01xx range, the email uses example.com, the IP address comes from a range kept for examples, and the TrustedForm link points to a certificate that does not exist.

Example values. Not a real consumer.

What a debt buyer does with each field

  • first_name, last_name and phone: the first call. A debt buyer usually wants to reach a new request the same day.
  • email: a follow-up channel when the consumer does not answer, within the limits of the consent given.
  • state: routing, so a request reaches only a buyer that serves that state.
  • tcpa_text, ip_address, user_agent and landing_page_url: proof of what the consumer agreed to and on which page.
  • trustedform_cert_url and jornaya_leadid: independent records of the same form session that a buyer can keep with its own files.

Fields such as the kind of debt, an approximate total or whether payments are behind are the questions debt buyers usually raise next. Which debt types and filters apply to a campaign is agreed with each buyer during onboarding. The buyer page, debt settlement leads, covers delivery, the debt types buyers ask about and how to start.

Each debt lead carries the TCPA consent record captured on the form. The record is the six consent fields above. The TrustedForm certificate is a third-party record of the form session that the buyer can open and store, and the Jornaya LeadiD identifies Jornaya’s record of the same submission.

Debt relief calls also fall under the FTC’s Telemarketing Sales Rule, which has its own provisions for debt relief services, including a ban on fees before a debt is settled or changed. The FTC explains them in its business guide to debt relief and the Telemarketing Sales Rule. TCPA compliance for debt leads and express written consent cover consent for calls and texts.

This is general information, not legal advice. Ask your own counsel whether a consent record supports the way your team calls or texts a consumer about debt.

More sample leads

The other sample pages show home services and MVA leads, which carry address and qualifier fields that a debt lead does not: see the sample roofing lead and the sample car accident lead. The sample leads hub describes the parts every lead has. Lead generators can read high quality debt leads for what buyers check on arrival.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no debt amount field on the sample debt lead?

Debt-specific fields such as debt amount and debt type are confirmed with each buyer during onboarding, so the sample shows only the fields every Summit lead has.

Does a debt lead include the consumer’s street address?

Not on this sample. It carries the consumer’s state, which is what debt buyers route on. Any further location field would be part of the debt specification agreed with the buyer.

Which consent fields come with a sample debt lead?

Six: the opt-in text shown on the form, the IP address, the user agent, the landing page URL, a TrustedForm certificate link and a Jornaya LeadiD.

Is the person in the sample debt lead real?

No. Jordan Example, the 555-0163 phone number, the example.com email address and the 192.0.2.71 IP address are all invented.
