For Buyers

Contractor leads in five home improvement trades

Summit Leads sells contractor leads in five home improvement trades: roofing, bathroom remodeling, window replacement, flooring, and siding and gutters. Each lead is a web request captured with TCPA consent and delivered by real-time ping/post, exclusive by default with shared delivery on request, in all U.S. states. Each trade has its own buyer page with lead types and filters.

This page is for contractors, home improvement companies and buying desks that buy leads for contractors. It explains which trades are covered, how buying works, and what to decide before the first lead arrives. For more buyer guides, see buy leads.

Contractor leads by trade

For all five trades on one page, see home improvement leads. Leads for trades outside this list are not offered.

Who buys contractor leads

Contractor leads are bought by companies of different sizes, each with different needs:

  • Single-trade contractors that want steady estimates in their service area, such as a roofing company or a flooring installer.
  • Multi-trade remodelers that buy in several trades and route each lead to the right crew.
  • Regional and multi-state companies that need volume across many ZIP codes with separate caps by market.
  • Buying desks and aggregators that buy leads in these trades and place them with their own contractor clients.

Each buyer type sets its own filters and caps, so the same trade can be bought very differently. A single-trade contractor might take a few leads a day in a handful of ZIP codes; a buying desk might take several trades across many states.

How buying contractor leads works

  1. Tell us what you buy

Email your trades, project types, states or ZIP codes, daily caps and delivery method.

  2. Agree on terms

Exclusivity, return terms and payment terms are agreed during onboarding.

  3. Connect delivery

Your filters are set up and your endpoint is connected for real-time ping/post.

  4. Test

Test posts confirm that leads arrive in your system with every field mapped.

  5. Go live

Leads that match your filters are routed to you in real time, up to your caps.

With ping/post, your system first receives a ping with the lead’s non-contact details, such as trade, project type and ZIP code. If you accept it, the full lead with contact details is posted to you. You only receive leads that match the filters you set. See ping/post integration for the technical side.

Leads for contractors: what to decide before you buy

Most problems with bought leads for contractors come from filters that do not match the jobs the crew takes. Settle these questions for each trade before you go live:

Questions to settle for each trade before buying contractor leads
TradeQuestions to settle
RoofingRepair, replacement or both? Do you want storm damage requests? Which roof materials do your crews install?
Bathroom remodelingFull remodels, tub or shower conversions, or both? Do you take projects that need accessibility features?
Window replacementIs there a minimum number of windows you will quote? Do you work on older homes?
FlooringWhich materials do you install? Do you take single rooms or only larger projects?
Siding and guttersSiding, gutters or both? Repair as well as replacement? Which siding materials?
All tradesHomeowners only? Which ZIP codes can your crews reach? What hours can your team call new leads?

Write the answers down and send them with your first email. They become your filters, and they make return requests easier to judge because both sides agreed on what a valid lead is.

Exclusive or shared contractor leads

Summit’s contractor leads are exclusive by default: each lead goes to one buyer. Shared delivery is available on request, where a lead goes to a stated number of buyers. Exclusive leads suit companies that want time to schedule an estimate without competing calls; shared leads suit teams that call very fast and want more volume. Exclusive vs shared leads explains the trade-offs, and exclusive home improvement leads covers exclusivity for these trades.

Contractor leads service vs generating your own

A contractor leads service delivers homeowner requests you did not have to market for. Generating your own leads through search, maps, referrals and social ads builds your brand and your own pipeline, but takes time and budget. Many contractors do both. Contractor lead generation compares every channel, and buy leads vs generate in house helps you decide the mix.

Working contractor leads after delivery

A lead is a request, not a booked job. These habits help a crew turn more of them into estimates:

  • Call quickly. Homeowners who asked for a quote are often comparing companies. See speed to lead.
  • Confirm the project on the first call. Check the trade, project type and address against the lead before you book an estimate.
  • Keep calling for several days. Many homeowners do not answer the first call from an unknown number.
  • Record outcomes by trade. Track contacts, estimates and sold jobs separately for roofing, bath, windows, flooring and exterior work, because they behave differently.
  • Use returns for what they cover. Request returns for the reasons agreed during onboarding, with the details asked for, so they can be reviewed quickly.

To see what each lead costs you per sold job, use the lead cost calculator.

TCPA consent is captured on every lead, with consent certificates. If you need the record behind a lead, ask for it by email. A consent record shows the consent language the person agreed to, when they agreed and on which page. Keep the lead ID with each lead in your CRM so you can find the record later, for example if a homeowner asks how you got their number. Returns are handled under return terms agreed during onboarding; see lead returns for how the process works.

Frequently asked questions

Which trades do your contractor leads cover?

Five home improvement trades: roofing, bathroom remodeling, window replacement, flooring, and siding and gutters. Summit does not offer leads for other trades.

Can I buy contractor leads in more than one trade?

Yes. You can buy any combination of the five trades through one ping/post connection, with separate filters and caps for each trade.

Are your contractor leads exclusive?

Yes, by default. Each lead goes to one buyer. Shared delivery is available on request.

How are contractor leads delivered?

By real-time ping/post. Your system receives the non-contact details first, accepts or declines, and then receives the full lead. Delivery is real time, so your team can call while the request is fresh.

What comes with each contractor lead?

The contact details, the trade and project details the form asks for, the location, and the consent record. The fields differ by trade; each trade page lists the lead types and filters for that trade.

Which states do your contractor leads cover?

All U.S. states. You choose the states or ZIP codes you want, and leads outside them are not sent to you.
