Sell Your Leads

Sell HVAC leads: heating and cooling supply

To sell HVAC leads, a lead generator captures homeowner requests for heating or cooling installs, replacements and repairs on its own forms, with consent, and posts them to buyers by ping/post. Summit Leads is adding HVAC and is not buying HVAC leads yet; HVAC lead generators can register interest now and are contacted when buying opens.

Now onboardingHVAC is being added to Summit Leads and is not live yet. Summit is accepting interest from HVAC lead generators now: email us your traffic sources, states and daily volume, and we will contact you when HVAC buying opens.

This page is for lead generators and publishers with their own forms and consent capture: companies running paid search, Meta, native or SEO sites for heating and cooling services. If you send traffic to landers instead of running your own forms, see HVAC offers in the publisher program.

Where to sell HVAC leads

A generator with HVAC volume has two main paths. The first is to build its own buyer list: recruit heating and cooling contractors market by market, agree terms with each, and handle duplicates, returns and collections one buyer at a time. The second is to sell to a broker or buyer network that already has buyers connected and routes each lead to the buyers whose filters it matches.

Building your own network keeps the whole sale price but takes time and staff, and it leaves you exposed when one contractor stops buying. Selling to a network trades part of the margin for reach and steadier acceptance. Many generators do both: direct contractors in their strongest markets, a network for the rest. Sell to a broker vs build a buyer network compares the two in detail.

Summit’s HVAC buying is now onboarding, so it is not one of those paths yet. Generators who register interest now are contacted when it opens.

What makes HVAC leads valuable

Buyers of heating and cooling requests judge a lead on a short list of points. The more of them a form captures clearly, the more buyers a lead can match:

  • Project type. Install, replace or repair. Replacement and install requests are larger jobs; repair requests are urgent and need a fast call.
  • System. Cooling or heating, and the kind of equipment where the homeowner knows it (central air, heat pump, furnace, boiler, ductless).
  • Homeownership. Owners can approve a new system; renters usually cannot.
  • Timeframe. Work needed now, soon or later. Buyers set filters on project fields like this one.
  • Location. A full ZIP code, because HVAC companies work in tight service areas.
  • Contact data and consent. A working phone number, and a consent record that shows the opt-in language, timestamp, IP address and page URL.

Season matters too. Cooling requests rise in hot months and heating requests in cold months, so demand for a given ZIP code moves through the year. The guide what makes leads worth buying covers the general factors buyers weigh across verticals.

How selling HVAC leads works by ping/post

In ping/post, your system sends a ping with the lead’s non-contact fields (vertical, project type, ZIP code and the qualifying answers). Buyers whose filters match reply with a bid or a decline. The winning bid receives the full lead by post, with the contact data and the consent record. Real-time delivery matters in HVAC because a homeowner with a broken system often books the first company that calls.

  1. Tell us about your HVAC supply

Your traffic sources, states, daily volume, how consent is captured, and how you deliver today.

  2. Set up delivery

When HVAC buying opens, ping/post or another integration is configured to match how you deliver today.

  3. Test, then go live

Test leads confirm the fields map correctly before live leads are sent.

For the general mechanics on the seller side, see ping post explained and how to sell leads you generate. For how HVAC lead generation works across channels, see HVAC lead generation services.

Common mistakes selling HVAC leads

  • Mixing repair and replacement without a project field. A buyer that only wants replacements cannot filter what the form does not ask.
  • Partial ZIP codes or no ZIP code. Service areas are small. A lead without a usable ZIP code matches few buyers.
  • Generic consent language. Consent that does not cover the companies that will call creates risk for every buyer. See TCPA compliance for home service leads and TCPA for lead generators.
  • Batching urgent requests. A repair request held for hours loses most of its value. Send leads as they come in.
  • One campaign for every season. Running the same cooling ads in winter wastes budget. Shift to heating messages as the weather turns.
