MVA and home improvement leads in Ohio

Ohio had 11,900,510 residents in the Census Bureau estimate for July 1, 2025. Ohio weighs an injured person's fault against the combined conduct of everyone else who caused the crash, including people who are not in the lawsuit, and its median home dates from 1970. Both points change how Ohio leads are screened.

Summit Leads supplies home improvement and MVA leads in all U.S. states, including Ohio. Buyers set filters down to the ZIP code. Leads are exclusive by default: each lead is sold to one buyer. Shared delivery is available if a buyer asks for it.

Ohio MVA leads: financial responsibility and combined fault

Ohio is a fault-based state. Revised Code 4509.101 says no person shall operate, or permit the operation of, a motor vehicle in Ohio unless proof of financial responsibility is maintained continuously throughout the registration period. The Ohio Department of Insurance describes bodily injury liability insurance as protecting the policyholder "against the claims of other people injured in an accident for which you were at fault." An injured Ohioan claims against that coverage directly, without a no-fault threshold.

The Ohio comparative fault statute, Revised Code 2315.33, lets a plaintiff recover if their contributory fault was not greater than the combined tortious conduct of all other persons from whom the plaintiff seeks recovery in the action and of all other persons from whom the plaintiff does not seek recovery. The court then reduces compensatory damages by the plaintiff's percentage. A claimant at exactly half the fault is not barred.

The second half of that sentence is what makes Ohio different. The comparison counts people the plaintiff does not sue, so the fault of a driver who is not a party still sits on the other side of the scale. For a buyer, that means the lead should describe the whole crash: every vehicle, who was cited, and whether anyone left the scene. An Ohio firm reads those details before it decides whether the claimant's share is too large.

Timing follows Revised Code 2305.10(A): an action for bodily injury shall be brought within two years after the cause of action accrues, and the cause of action generally accrues when the injury occurs. Ohio buyers set an accident age limit inside that period and often ask for the date of first treatment alongside the accident date.

Sub-types, filters and the quality bar are on the MVA leads and car accident leads pages.

Ohio home improvement leads: steady owners, 1970 housing

The Census Bureau puts Ohio's owner-occupied housing unit rate at 67.2% for 2020-2024, almost identical to Illinois and above Georgia and North Carolina. Two in three Ohio households own their home, which suits owner-only campaigns, and homeowner confirmation is still applied to every lead.

The median year structure built for Ohio housing units is 1970 in the ACS 5-year estimates for 2020-2024. Ohio's population changed little, up 0.9% from the April 2020 estimates base to July 2025, so Ohio campaigns center on existing homes. Roofing, siding and gutters, window, bathroom renovation and flooring buyers each pick the ZIP codes their contractor clients serve.

Ohio has no state license for general or home improvement contractors. The Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board licenses commercial contractors in five specialty trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, hydronics and refrigeration), and residential contractor rules are left to local building departments. Door-to-door sales fall under the Home Solicitation Sales Act, Revised Code 1345.21 and following: the consumer has until midnight of the third business day to cancel, and the Attorney General notes the seller may not start services before that window expires.

Project types and filters are listed on the home improvement leads and roofing leads pages.

Consent records for Ohio leads

Each lead carries its TCPA consent record (opt-in language, timestamp, IP address and page URL), so the record travels with the lead to your system.

Each Ohio lead carries a consent record built to the federal TCPA standard, with the opt-in wording the consumer accepted, the time of opt-in, the IP address and the page URL. Ohio buyers who distribute leads to contractor or law firm clients can hand that record down with the lead, so the client making the call holds its own proof of consent.

Our guide to state telemarketing laws compares the states that add rules on top of the TCPA.

Ohio lead buying questions

Is Ohio an at-fault state for car accidents?

Yes. Ohio requires proof of financial responsibility under Revised Code 4509.101, and bodily injury liability insurance covers the claims of people injured in an accident the policyholder caused. There is no no-fault threshold.

Does Ohio bar a claimant who was 50 percent at fault?

No. Under Revised Code 2315.33, contributory fault bars recovery only if it was greater than the combined tortious conduct of all other persons. At 50 percent, damages are reduced by half.

Why does Ohio count people who are not in the lawsuit?

Revised Code 2315.33 compares the plaintiff's fault with the conduct of all other persons, including those from whom the plaintiff does not seek recovery. Details on every driver in the crash help an Ohio firm judge the claim.

How long do Ohio accident victims have to file suit?

Two years after the cause of action accrues for bodily injury, under Revised Code 2305.10(A). Buyers keep their accident age limit well inside that period.

How old is Ohio housing?

The median year structure built is 1970 in the ACS 5-year estimates for 2020-2024, so half of Ohio housing units were built in 1970 or earlier.

Can we set a daily cap on Ohio leads?

Yes. Buyers set filters (vertical and sub-type, states or ZIP codes, other criteria) and daily caps per campaign, and new buyers usually start with a small test volume before scaling.
