Georgia drivers must carry liability insurance, and the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire explains that liability insurance "helps pay damages to others on your behalf if they are injured" in an accident where the policyholder is ruled at-fault. Uninsured motorist coverage is part of Georgia policies too: under O.C.G.A. 33-7-11 the required coverage applies unless an insured named in the policy rejects it in writing. When the other driver had no insurance, the claimant's own uninsured motorist coverage is the field a firm asks about first.
O.C.G.A. 51-12-33 reduces a partly at-fault plaintiff's damages in proportion to their percentage of fault, and subsection (g) sets the cutoff: the plaintiff shall not be entitled to receive any damages if the plaintiff is 50 percent or more responsible for the injury or damages claimed. At an even split, a claimant can still recover in Texas, Florida, Illinois or Ohio, but recovers nothing in Georgia. Georgia buyers treat clear or favorable liability as a hard filter for that reason.
Georgia changed its trial rules in 2025. The tort reform package signed on April 21, 2025 removed the evidence rule that kept juries from hearing that a plaintiff was not wearing a seat belt. O.C.G.A. 40-8-76.1(d)(1) now says the failure to wear a seat safety belt may be considered in any civil action as evidence on negligence, comparative negligence, causation and apportionment of fault, and may be used to diminish recovery. The same package lets juries see both the medical amounts charged and the amounts actually paid, and requires arguments about noneconomic damages to relate to the evidence. The changes took effect on different dates, so the accident and filing dates on a lead matter for which rules apply. Seat belt use is now a useful intake question on Georgia leads.
The deadline is set by O.C.G.A. 9-3-33: actions for injuries to the person shall be brought within two years after the right of action accrues. Georgia buyers set their accident age limit well inside that window.

Georgia home improvement leads: growth and 1992 housing
The Census Bureau puts Georgia's owner-occupied housing unit rate at 65.7% for 2020-2024. Georgia is also growing: its population rose 5.5% between the April 2020 estimates base and July 2025, and the Census Bureau counted 61,196 building permits in the state in 2025. A growing state adds homeowners every year, in new houses and in older ones.
The median year structure built for Georgia housing units is 1992 in the ACS 5-year estimates for 2020-2024. Half of Georgia's homes went up in 1992 or later. A statewide Georgia campaign mixes newer subdivisions with older neighborhoods, so buyers set project type and homeowner status first, then choose the ZIP codes each contractor client serves.
Georgia requires a residential contractor license from the State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors, under O.C.G.A. 43-41-17, for residential work whose total value exceeds a project-size threshold set in the statute. The license comes in two tiers: residential-basic, for one- and two-family homes and townhouses, and residential-light commercial, which adds multifamily and small commercial buildings. For door-to-door sales, a Consumer Protection Division rule adopts the FTC Cooling-Off Rule by reference, which gives the buyer until midnight of the third business day to cancel a covered sale.

Consent records and the Georgia No Call law

Georgia has its own no call statute, O.C.G.A. 46-5-27, which covers both residential and cellular numbers. The state list was merged into the federal Do Not Call Registry in 2003, so Georgia numbers are registered through the federal list, and subsection (i) allows consumers to bring a private action.
