Oregon wind records and rainfall in 2025

For Oregon, NOAA logged more wind records outside thunderstorms than thunderstorm gusts in 2025. The 2025 Storm Events details file (dated August 19, 2026) has 28 Oregon records with event type High Wind and 15 with event type Thunderstorm Wind.

For water, NOAA's Climate at a Glance statewide series (2025 data) puts Oregon's 2025 precipitation at 29.14 inches. The 1991 to 2020 average is 32.13 inches a year. The figure is one statewide number and does not show how totals differ from one county to the next.

How the figures are built: one Storm Events record stands for one event type in one county or forecast zone,. Precipitation is the statewide 12-month sum ending in December.

Oregon detached homes and their age

Almost half of Oregon's housing predates 1980. The Census Bureau's table B25034 (ACS 5-year 2020-2024) counts 49.1% of units built before that year, and table B25035 (ACS 5-year 2020-2024) gives a median year built of 1981.

Most of that stock is detached houses. Table B25024 (ACS 5-year 2020-2024) puts single-family detached homes at 62.7% of Oregon housing units.

Oregon CCB license terms for siding and gutter crews

This section is general information, not legal advice. It summarizes official sources as of October 7, 2026; check the current text of each rule before relying on it.

Before a business gets a Construction Contractors Board license, its responsible managing individual completes at least 16 hours of pre-license training from an approved provider and passes the Oregon exam, according to the CCB license page (checked October 7, 2026). Contractors choose an endorsement that matches the structures they work on.

The endorsement sets the bond and insurance. On the same CCB license page (checked October 7, 2026), a residential specialty contractor carries a $20,000 surety bond and $300,000 of liability insurance per occurrence, and a residential general contractor carries a $25,000 bond and $500,000 per occurrence. The bond pays a CCB final order up to its amount if the contractor does not.

Paint on older houses has its own rule. The CCB specialty licenses page (checked October 7, 2026) says only contractors licensed for Lead-Based Paint Renovation can bid or work on homes built before 1978, which the Board says are presumed to have lead paint unless testing shows otherwise. Buyers can ask for the year built at intakeIntakeThe process a law firm or its intake team uses to screen a potential client, collect the facts of the accident and injury, and decide whether to take the case. Glossary to route those jobs to crews that hold that license.

The statute requiring the license and Oregon's home solicitation cancellation rule are covered on leads in Oregon.
