Arkansas storm wind and rainfall in 2025
Arkansas logged 301 records with event type Thunderstorm Wind in 2025 and 8 with event type High Wind, in NOAA's Storm Events Database 2025 details file. High Wind is one of NOAA's event types for wind that does not come from a thunderstorm, so most of the state's wind records that year were tied to thunderstorms.
Rain in 2025 ran close to the long-term figure. The NOAA Climate at a Glance series for Arkansas (2025 data) gives 51.56 inches of statewide precipitation for 2025 and an average of 52.48 inches a year over 1991 to 2020. Those totals are the rain that reaches Arkansas roofs and gutters in a typical year.
Method: a Storm Events record covers one county or forecast zone for one event, so one storm line crossing several counties adds several records. The precipitation figure is the January to December statewide total.
What Arkansas homes look like for exterior work
Seven in ten Arkansas housing units are single-family detached houses: 70.0% in the Census Bureau's table B25024 (ACS 5-year 2020-2024). The same table counts mobile homes at 11.0% of units, so a buyer whose crews do not work on manufactured housing can screen those requests out at intakeIntakeThe process a law firm or its intake team uses to screen a potential client, collect the facts of the accident and injury, and decide whether to take the case. Glossary.
Half of the state's housing units were built in 1987 or earlier, per table B25035 (ACS 5-year 2020-2024). A build year on the lead helps a buyer tell a few storm-damaged panels from a full re-side or a complete gutter run.
Arkansas licensing for siding and gutter contractors
This section is general information, not legal advice. It summarizes official sources as of October 7, 2026; check the current text of each rule before relying on it.
Arkansas names this trade in its contractor rules. 17 CAR 295-111 (law booklet revised April 2026) lists "siding, soffit, fascia, and gutters" as a specialty classification, next to a separate "awnings, canopies, and gutters" specialty. Under 17 CAR 295-110 in the same booklet, a residential specialty contractor may perform only the functions of the specialty it holds, while residential builders and remodelers are treated as general contractors.
Ark. Code 17-25-505(b), printed in the April 2026 law booklet, says a person may not act as a home improvement contractor after January 1, 2012 unless licensed by the Residential Contractors Committee or exempt. The Board's application page (checked October 7, 2026) says the home improvement license is needed for specialty work on a single-family residence when the project is more than $2,000, labor and material included.
Builder and remodeler licenses and the in-home sale cancellation rule are set out on leads in Arkansas.
